Zoe-perry

Perry is daughter to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. In her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first television roles. Parents, however, didn't want her to play an acting career until she was an adult and was worried about the impact of stress. Perry was shy in high-school and did not act. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends upon her transfer to the university from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry went to New York to search for television work landing small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent But her home-sickness caused her to move back to California where she found acting work. She was in 2013 on stage with The Other Place on Broadway together with her mom. In 2015, she starred alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry made an appearance in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, she played a supporting role in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal in which her father was the main character. In the same year, she played a young model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) as her mother in a younger version. Despite her connection to the family of her character, she got the part via audition.
